Installation Failed
The installer log file exists at `%temp%\MD11InstallManager.log` and can reveal quite a bit.
Download Issues
Connectivity, bandwidth, and available disk space can affect this. If the issue is the "connection forcibly closed by the remote host" error in the log, it's usually a network issue between your computer and us. Try checking antivirus software, router settings, or even a different network if possible. In some cases, the issue can be IPv6 - if possible, try disabling IPv6 on the network adapter and seeing what effect it has.
Plane Installs but Does Not Appear
The easiest way to determine what's going wrong is check the `%localappdata%\TFDi Design MD-11\installation.xml` file and see what it thinks the MSFS/FS24 path is. This will often tell you where the files are (but not why they're misplaced). The next step is determing where they should be and correcting it - either by moving the files yourself and editing their installation.xml or reinstalling with the path override (see below).
Incorrect/Duplicate/Broken Sim Installations
This occurs when the sim is improperly installed or has switched from MS Store to Steam or vice-versa. To determine what the appropriate path, you need to look for the "InstalledPackagesPath" value in the UserOpt.cfg file.
Flight Simulator 2020
- Store: `%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt`
- Steam: `%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator\UserCfg.opt`
Flight Simulator 2024
- Store: `%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt`
- Steam: `%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\UserCfg.opt`
