Thank you for choosing the TFDi Design MD-11 for Microsoft Flight Simulator on Xbox .

This article outlines important information regarding installation, navigation data, general usage, and support expectations for Xbox users.

Initial Installation May Take Time

After purchasing and downloading the MD-11 from the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace, the aircraft must be unpackaged and installed by the simulator before it becomes available for use.

Important

  • The initial installation process on Xbox may appear to be slow.
  • Depending on system performance and Marketplace processing, installation and unpackaging can take up to 30 minutes before the aircraft is fully available.
  • During this process, please allow Microsoft Flight Simulator sufficient time to complete installation before attempting troubleshooting.

If the aircraft does not appear immediately after download, we recommend waiting for the installation process to fully complete and restarting the simulator if necessary.

Navigation Data (NavData)

The Xbox version of the TFDi Design MD-11 includes NavData cycle 2503 as its default navigation database; this aligns with the current default NavData cycle for SimBrief as of August 1, 2026. Navigraph typically updates the free base database for SimBrief flight planning once a year in the spring.

Please note

  • An active Navigraph subscription cannot be used to update the MD-11 NavData on Xbox at this time.

We are reviewing options for navigation databases that will allow you to use more updated data.

Enable Cursor Mode for EFB Interactions

To interact with the EFB you will need to enable cursor mode. The default binding for this is RB + Left stick click (press down on the left thumbstick while holding the right bumper).

Xbox Support Limitations

While TFDi Design will continue to help where possible, support options for the Xbox platform are significantly more limited than on PC.

Why Support Is Limited

Unlike the PC version, Xbox does not provide access to:

  • Aircraft diagnostic logs
  • Configuration files
  • Detailed system-level debugging information
  • Direct access to simulator data for troubleshooting

Additionally, support staff cannot easily observe or diagnose issues related to:

  • Xbox hardware interactions
  • Controller mappings
  • Console-specific operating conditions
  • Marketplace installation processes

Because of these platform restrictions, screen-sharing sessions are often insufficient for identifying the root cause of complex issues.

What This Means

  • TFDi Design support staff can assist with general guidance, known issues, and operational questions.
  • Investigation of Xbox-specific issues may be limited.
  • Some reports may not be reproducible or diagnosable due to a lack of available diagnostic data.
  • Resolution timelines for Xbox-only issues may vary depending on the information available from Microsoft Flight Simulator and Marketplace systems.

Need Additional Help

Before opening a support request, please ensure:

  • The aircraft installation has been given sufficient time to complete (up to 30 minutes after downloading).
  • Microsoft Flight Simulator has been restarted after installation.
  • You understand that the Xbox version uses the default NavData cycle 2503, which cannot be updated through Navigraph application at this time.
